1. INVITATION TO TENDER
The Contracting Authority for the purpose of this Invitation to Tender is Evak Ltd. The address Brentwood Grove, Wallsend, Tyne and Wear NE28 6PT
2. BACKGROUND
Evak Engineering is a North Tyneside based sub-contract machine shop. The business currently manufactures small quantity components/engineered machined parts. To broaden capacity and capabilities it is looking to purchase two machine tools:
- A CNC milling
- A CNC Turning Machine – Lathe
3. SPECIFICATION OF REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Services/Work/Equipment to be provided:
Evak is looking to purchase the following equipment, with the following specifications:
1. CNC Milling Machine
- 3 Axis with Touchscreen Control
• 4 Axis Digital Readout
- Facility to save drawings and programmes
• 40 Int Spindle with Motor
• Programmable Head up to 5,000 RPM
• 750mm X 500mm X 500mm Travels (X/Y/Z), these are minimums
• Heavy Duty Box Way Slides
• Worklight, Air Power Drawbar
• Interlocked Guards
2. CNC Turning Machine – Lathe
- Bed size 425 X 1.25M minimum CNC Lathe
• Touchscreen Control
- Facility to save drawings and programmes.
• Swing over bed 480mm minimum (700mm in Gap)
• Swing over the cross slide 250mm minimum
• Between Centres 1250mm minimum
• Spindle Bore 80mm minimum
• 3 Jaw Chuck D1-8 Camlock 250mm minimum
• 3 Speed Gearbox Spindle with 25 – 2,500 RPM range
3.2 Timescales
Tender placed on website – 15 February 2021.
Tender deadline – Noon 1 March 2021.
Review bids – 2 March 2021.
Appoint preferred supplier/Place order – 3 March 2021.
Equipment Delivered – 17 March 2021.
Installation Complete – 19 March 2021.

5. QUALITY ASSURANCE
Evak would like to invite tenders from companies that have knowledge and experience of supply of CNC Turning and CNC milling machines
6. TENDER SUBMISSIONS
Tenders will be evaluated against the award criteria as set out within Section 7
7. AWARD CRITERIA
The contract will be awarded to the most economically advantageous tender evaluated against the following criteria.
